Weekly Fishing Report ~ November 27th

We had a good week in November and were busy with the holiday break. During a half-day fishing trip, we caught bass, sheephead, whitefish, and some sand bass. We used the standard sinker setup for the sheephead. We also caught some calico bass when the water temperature was 62°- 64°.

We had good conditions for catching rockfish below San Onofre, resulting in mixed bags including chilis, reds, grouper, whitefish, and sculpin. We caught some nice bigger grade bank rockfish and chilies too when we fished out deep on the 14 mile bank. However, we caught more fish in the lower San Onofre sector.

One of our 6pac boats, the Current, fished Catalina and caught 4 keepers and 8 shorts of halibut with plenty of calico bass and mixed fish. On another day, they had a charter and caught just short of cod limits for 6 anglers.

Our hoop net trips were slow this week, which is probably due to the big moon.
