What is a Megapod? A megapod (or superpod) is a massive congregation of dolphins, often numbering between 1,000 and 5,000 individuals. When a megapod decides to move, they can create a “stampede,” churning the water white as they race alongside the boat. It sounds like a rushing waterfall and is truly a sensory overload.

When is the Best Time to See Them? The honest answer? The Beginning of the year. While Common Dolphins are here year-round, winter is a historically fantastic time for large pod aggregations.

• Morning vs. Afternoon: There is no “bad” time, but morning trips often catch dolphins feeding actively, while sunset trips can offer stunning photography opportunities as the silhouettes of jumping dolphins cross the setting sun.
